About Amity:
Still a people-pleaser, facing Satan has given her more courage. She still has some trouble adjusting to this change, as she is not prepared for all the circumstances she will be facing, but she is now a little more comfortable speaking to others.
Before meeting Satan, she was terrified of the idea of war. Now, she is beginning to understand that she is needed as a leader, due to her experience. A part of her is offended when she is overlooked in that capacity.
About Asher:
His entire personality is about passion. In his human life, he poured his passion into athletics. He is now being moved to a different realm where running is not an option. He needs to change his driving focus to something else. He will now be concentrating on the mission he was issued at his calling. Since he has found Amity and still isn't quite sure what The Cause is, Asher will turn all his attention to falling in love. Like it or not.
About Caedmon:
He is now aware that he is not really a boy, but he also understands that there is no way to explain that to anyone else. Remembering that he is only a boy when he is fearful, he worries that others will accuse him of his fear when they see him as a boy.
About Malachi:
Malachi has fallen back into what he knows best - depression. Although he has been shown the importance and need for the war, he is frustrated in being left in charge with no direction. His goal is to win the war and be free of the life he knew.
About Killian:
Loyal friend who is frustrated. Asher is the only other angelman he knows, but that friend has been lofted to a point of importance that Killian does not have access to.
About Other Characters:
In The Battle, you will not see Mackenzie, Mallory, Ally, or any of the other characters from the first four books who are not angelmen. The angelmen have left their homes to fight the war, and the others are not a part. However, these characters will all be seen again. When the battle is over, the surviving angelmen will return to the world they knew, in a book titled The Cause.
